Robby... u HAVE TO REMEMBER UR PARTS AND PUT IT ON 3   5by3   notecard. PLEASE remember ur lines!!!!!!!! this is what i have so far... but i have all ur parts.....  so here it goes

Show Commercial

Victoria:

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today we are here to present to you our newest product from Tgate incorporated, the Telenode. I’m Victoria Lee, the President of Tgate. This Victor Lee and Roby Slater, they are the Technical department heads. And this is UZ Zhan the Media advertisement department head.

Tgate incorporated is a company that professionally designs teleporting machines in a variety of styles. We make Teleporting booths, stations, and now, watches. Our products are very efficient, and they all come with reasonable prices. The products of Tgate has been approved and liked by many clients, purchasers and customers.

The Telenode is a teleporter that’s designed in the form of a watch. With a simple press of a button, you can get to where ever you want to go. With the Telenode, you won’t be late, stuck in traffic, or even wasting the time driving around to places.

Victor:

The locations of the whole world are programmed in the Telenode. This program is voice activated, which means you don’t have to spend a long time typing in the address. There are three basic steps to teleporting using the Telenode. Step1: Push the button on the watch. Step 2: Say out loud the full address of your desired destination, including: name of the place, address, city, state, zip code, and country. Step 3: You’ll be automatically teleported to your destination in less than 3 seconds!

Victoria

Have you ever heard traveling in style? Well, now you can! The Telenode comes in different styles that fit the clients. In other words, the styles of the Telenodes are costume made. What ever the styles there are, we’ve got them. There are the classic watches for the ladies and the gentlemen, and there are the athletic watches for the athletes or dudes and dudesses. All the styles are professionally designed by professional designers, and they are sure to fit your personality.

These are just some of the examples of the different styles that we have. On the top row, we have the classic luxury watch for the gentlemen, the energetic sport watch for the male athletes, the luxury sport watch for formal and informal occasions, and the modern luxury watch for the ladies. On the bottom row, we have the light sport watches for the young girls and a classic pink wrist watch for the ladies that want to spice up their lives.

Robby

The Telenode is targeted to two main groups of buyers. The Government, and the Bourgeoisies. The Government need the Telenode because the missions of the special forces will be much easier if the can just Teleport to their destinations. The Bourgeoisies are the middle and higher-class people of the society. They usually consist Business men and merchants. The Telenode will save them precious time my eliminating traveling between places.

Logos and mottos help the advertisers leave deep impressions with the customers, before we decided on the Telenode Logo and motto we studied some of the well know logos and mottos in the market. Among them there is the Subway, eat fresh, Cingular, rising the bar, and American Airlines, something special in the air.

After careful design and consideration, we decided on our logo and motto. Our logo is a Blue T surrounded by circles. The T stands for Telenode and the circles symbolize teleporting around the world. Our motto is “don’t spend your life on the road” this is approperate because much of people’s lives are wasted sitting in traffic on the road.

Victor

This is a promo poster that we are ging to use to introduce to the public about the Telenode. On the top left corner we have our logo and motto, on the top right corner we have out logical and personal appeal. It says “You may never be stuck in traffic again! The Average American driver now spends the equivalent of nearly a full workweek each year stuck in traffic. Telenode teleports you to your destination in a matter of 3 seconds!

Enjoy life, don’t waste it in traffic.” On the bottom left corner it explains the product, the price and  the purchase info. On the bottom right corner, it shows some of the watch samples. They will appeal to the customers because of their fancyness and brilliant color.

Victor

Before we advertised on the market, we carefully studied the three appeals. Here in Ad #1, we see emotional appeal, because the elegant look of the woman and the jewelry will appeal to the targeted buyers. Here in Ad #2 we see logical appeal. Facts and numbers are listed to tell the customers about the product.

Here in Ad #3, we see Personal appeal. A quote is taken from a user to show the reliability of the product.

Robby

Here are some of appeals that we put in to our advertisements. First, we have logical appeal: “The average American city dweller wastes 62 hours per year stuck in traffic, according to the 2002 Urban Mobility Study by the Texas Transportation Institute. The institute measured traffic delays in 75 major cities, including Columbus, Ohio, where the average delay is 36 hours per year; Cleveland, where the average is 21 hours per year; and Cincinnati, where it’s 43 hours per year.”

The price of gasoline has rose greatly in the past year, from the original 45 dollars per barrel to the now 75 dollars per barrel. As you are seeing in this chart, the gasoline price is still raising. The Telenode only uses solar power, so it’s totally environmentally save. Plus, it will save you thousands on gas each year.

UZ, Victoria, and Robby

UZ- Before we introduced the Telenode into the general public, our company selected some lucky winners to try this innovating new product before hand. The satisfaction rate was 100% and we will be using their quotes as personal appeals. Roger William said: “Before I got the Telenode, I was always in a mess, stuck in traffic, late for work, and late for picking up my kids, life seemed a rush for me. Now with the Telenode, I am always on time. With the extra time, I can enjoy my life, doing activities such as golfing.”

Victoria- Laura Smith said: “Thanks to Telenode, I saved tons of money AND time. I even have time to get facials and pedicures; now I’m younger than ever.”

Robby- Tom Wade said: “Dude, after my parents bought me the Telenode, I was NEVER late for a date ever again, that’s wicked awesome.”

UZ

We will be running our commercial during ABC’s Monday night football it will run for 30 second and it will cost around 300,000 dollars. As you saw at the beginning of our presentsion, our commercial shows that there is no need to rush if one has the Telenode. We have a person dancing in front of the mirrors while everyone is waiting for him at a boring party. He finally gets ready and Teleports to the party. With his arrival, he saves the almost dead party, and everyone dances around him. When the main character was putting his clothes on, he sang: “I’m too sexy for my car.” Hinting that with the Telenode, there is no need of a car. This commercial is subconsciously telling the audiences that anything that’s fun follows the Telenode, without the Telenode, life is just going to be boring and dull.

UZ

This is a billboard we are planning to put on the road. It reads, “ Want to travel with luxury, speed and style? With the Telenode, you won’t need a road. In your local Tgate dealorships near you. Or call 1-800-Car-gone.We are going to put this billboard on the Dallas North tollway, it’s right across from the shops at Willow Bend. This is a good location because the Dallas North tollway is one of the most traveled tollway in Texas, and Williow Bend mall is one of the most visited malls in the area.

The billboard is an outdoor billboard. It’s located in Plano

What's wrong with the world mama?
People living like aint got no mamas
I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you're bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the love2x)

It just ain't the same all ways have changed
New days are strange is the world the insane?
If love and peace so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering
As the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really strong?
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
With this world that we living in
People keep on giving in
Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and
Not respecting each other
Deny thy brother
The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover
The truth is kept secret
Swept under the rug
If you never know truth
Then you never know love
Where's the love y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the truth y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the love y'all?

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father father father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the lovex2)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm getting older y'all people get colder
Most of us only care about money makin
Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying

Would you turn the other cheek?

Study guide Chapter 18

Toward the Modern Era: 1870-1914

World War I (1914-1918) marked an end to almost three thousand years of European political and cultural supremacy as well as the beginning of a world in which events in any corner of the globe could- and still do- have immense consequences for good or ill for the entire human race.

Our cultural traditions go back to ancient Greece and Rome. People are more closely linked to more recent generations. Parent/grandparent's world is subject to more bias. People have more of an objective view of events long ago.

Arts reflected the events of the time period, and express the spirit of the age. It can be used to help to develop opinions in the time period.

Europe had the feeling that life is not going to continue as before. Social and Political revolutions had replaced old monarchies. Scientific and technological developments improved standards of living and a more congenial existence.

A new mood of cheerfulness began to make itself felt in the great cities of Europe in Paris for example, the period became know as the Belle 0‡7poque.

Most of the leading countries in Europe were marinating huge armies and introducing compulsory military service. Sooner or later a war would break out.

Some important underlying factors to the mood:

  1. The growth of democratic systems of government had taught increasing numbers of people that they had a right to share in the material benefits made possible by the Industrial Revolution. In rich countries, the poor compared their lot to that of the more rich. In the poorer countries in Europe, everyone looked with envy toward their wealthier neighbors. The colonies the European countries began to resent European domination.
  2. Scientific progress made improvements, but created problems. Populations soared to record levels, creating food and housing shortages. New forms of transport and industrial processes brought vast numbers of workers to the cities. The lives of many people were uprooted and their daily existence became anonymous and impersonal.
  3. The growth of a world financial market, primarily dependent upon the value of gold, gave new poser to the forces of big business. The rise of capitalism, fiercely opposed by the growing forces of socialism, provoked the development of trade unions to protect the interests of the workers.
  4. Religion had lost its hold over intellectual circles. Strong religious faith and its manifestation in church attendance began to fall drastically at all levels of society. The newly developing fields of anthropology and psychology, far from replacing religion, provided fresh controversy with their radically different explanations of human life and behavior.

In America, where hundreds of thousands of Europeans emigrated in the hope of making a new start, optimism seems possible.

Events were moving so fast that few thinkers developed a philosophical basis for dealing with them.

Nietzsche:

  • Christianity slave religion Greatest curse of Western civilization
  • Democracy a little better, the rule of the mediocre masses.
  • The ¡°will to power¡± is the only valid life force
  • Society can only improve if strong and bold individuals, who can survive the loss of illusion, by the free assertion of the will, establish new values of nobility and goodness.
  • Ubermensch ¡°overperson¡±
  • The idea of super person was used and distorted by the Nazis

New art challenged previous accepted ideas. They were no longer tied to religion and philosophy. In music, traditional concepts of harmony and rhythm were first radically extended and then, by some composers at least, completely discarded. In literature, new areas of experience were explored, including the impact of the subconscious on human behavior, and traditional attitudes like the role of women were examined afresh. In the visual arts, the Impressionists found a totally new way of looking at the world.

New Movements in The Visual Arts

Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism followed in rapid succession.

Paris was the center for all the activity.

Manet

Le Dejeuner sur l¡¯Herbe (luncheon of the Grass)

  • Public outcry directed against the subject: nude female among 2 fully clothed men and 1 fully clothed woman.
  • Woman stares into the audience, men indifferent
  • The break with tradition: style, The artist is much less interested in telling us what his characters are doing that in showing us how he sees them and their surroundings.
  • Manet painted them in 2 dimensional and showing brilliance of colors
  • Manet laid the philosophical foundations that made Impressionism possible.

A Bar at the Folies-Bergere

  • One of Monet¡¯s last paintings
  • Presents the same solid appearance as the nude in Dejuner
  • Behind her back it¡¯s a mirror, and it reflects her back and the crowded scene is blurred, unlike the sharp outlines of the maid.

Impressionism

Their unconventional approach to art and contempt for traditional methods brought their work to public attention.

Impression: Sunrise

¡¤        By Monet

¡¤        It¡¯s the painting after which the Impressionist movement was named

Impressionism was first developed out to achieve greater realism, which had begun at the dawn of the Renaissance with Giotto.

The Impressionists concentrated on the realism of light and color rather than realism of form and sought to reproduce the literal impression an object made on their eyes.

They painted with an ¡°innocent eye¡±

Red Boats at Argenteuil

  • Monet recorded all the colors he saw in the water and the reflections of the boats without trying to blend them together conventionally
  • It what the artist saw rather than what he know.

¡°Only an eye, but my God what an eye!¡±-- Cezanne

Nympheas (Water Lilies)

¡¤        The effects of light and color reached its most complete expression in Monet¡¯s numerous paintings of water lilies in his garden.

¡¤        Not actual appearance, but an abstract symphony of glowing colors and reflecting lights.

Monet¡¯s art represents Impressionism in its purest form. Other painters, while preserving its general principles, devised variants on it.

Renoir shared Monet¡¯s interests in reproducing the effects of light in patches of color, but he brought to his subjects a human interest that derived from his own JOY in life.

His work consistently explored the beauty of the world around him rather than the great problems of human existence.

His most enduring love was for women as symbols of life itself.

La Moulin de la Galette

  • Shows the joy of life and a sense of happy activity.

Renoir traveled widely throughout Europe in order to see the paintings of the great Renaissance and Baroque masters. The influence of artists like Raphael, Velazquez, and Rubens is visible in his work. This combination of an Impressionistic approach to color with a more traditional attitude to form and composition emerges in Two Girls at the piano

  • The girls¡¯ arms have a genuine sense of roundness and weight
  • Renoir endows his figures with a sense of self-assurance that only emphasizes their vulnerability

Degas shared Renoir¡¯s interest in people, but unlike Renoir (who emphasized the positive side of life) he simply reported what he saw, stressing neither the good nor the bad. By showing us intimate moments in other people¡¯s lives, revealed by a momentary gesture or expression, his frankness, far from being heartless, conveys the universality of human experience.

One of the themes he turned to again and again was ballet, perhaps because of the range of movement it involved.

The Rehearsal

¡¤        Neither ballet nor ballet dancers are entirely glamorous.

¡¤        The unusual vantage point from which the stage is shown: close to and from a position high up on the side

Degas wan the reputation of being a misogynist (women hater) because many of his representations of female nudes lack the idealizing qualities of Renoir¡¯s and other painters¡¯ works.

The Tub

  • Unusual angle of vision
  • ¡°Key-hole visions¡±
  • Far from posing, his subjects seem to be spied on while they are engrossed in the most intimate and natural activities.

Cassatt: American artist who painted spontaneous scenes from daily life, particularly situations involving mothers and children.

Mother and Child

  • Mother turned away from us and a child who is saved from sentimentality by his complete unawareness of our presence.

Morisot¡¯s  early painting career was encouraged by Corot. In 1868, Morisot met Manet and they became warm friends; a few years later she married his younger brother.

She has always been labeled ¡°feminine¡±. Like Cassatt, a close frienc, she often painted women and children. Yet she also produced works of considerable breath.

View of Paris from the Trocadero

  • Presents a panoramic view of the city.
  • The sense of light and atmosphere is conveyed by loose, fluid brushstrokes.

Impressionism on sculptors was limited because many of its principles were dependent on color and light and could only be applied in paint.

Rodin: Bronze

Monument to Balzac

  • Irregularity of surface by which Rodin converted 2 D impressionist effects to 3D format
  • Themes generally massive and dramatic rather than everyday life
  • Violent force of genius
    The kiss
  • Marble are less Impressionistic
  • Renoir¡¯s blurred sensuality by soft texture and smooth transitions.
